We’re very excited to share this coffee with you. The Carranzas welcomed us to their farm and home with amazing hospitality and incredible coffee to share. Gaudencio Carranza comes from a coffee producing family. In fact, his ancestors were the first Me’phaa people to plant coffee in the Montaña Alta region of Guerrero. The past 18 years Gaudencio, with his wife Francisca Mejía Barrera, have passionately tended their 10 hectares of farm with the help of their 3 sons. Following the agricultural traditions of the indigenous Me’phaa means they see themselves as stewards of the land. With a duty to care for the soil and the surrounding environment. This leads to polyculture and often agroforestry. Which is what the Carranza’s practice. On their ‘farms’ coffee grows under the shade of large timber trees and surrounded by jackfruits and another 30 fruit and vegetable crops.

Andrew S. ★★★★★

The tasting notes on this batch are spot-on—smooth, rich, and exactly what you'd expect from beans that were shared with so much care by the growers themselves. I've already ordered a second bag for my morning pour-over, and it's become the highlight of my day.

Aurora Z. ★★★★★

The caramel notes came through beautifully in my pour-over, and the beans were roasted just right for a smooth morning cup. I only wish I’d ordered more before it sold out.

The hospitality the Carranzas showed their guests really comes through in every cup—it tastes like they put their whole farm into it. I brewed it in my French press and the aroma filled the whole kitchen before I even poured. Sad it's sold out now, but glad I grabbed a bag when I did.
