ロブスタ種はコンゴ民主共和国原産ですが、アラビカ種は1800年代後半の植民地時代にベルギー人によって導入されました。1970年代から80年代にかけて生産量はピークに達し、同国はアフリカ大陸最大の生産国となりました。しかし、90年代には内戦とコーヒー植物の病気により生産量が大幅に減少しました。過去20年ほどで、この地域からのコーヒーが復活してきており、このコーヒーを皆様と共有できることを大変嬉しく思います。
