I fratelli Kevin e Kenny Soewondo hanno iniziato la loro carriera nel caffè aprendo un caffè a Surabaya, la città più grande di Giava Orientale. Con la crescita, hanno avviato una torrefazione.

Acquistano ciliegie dai contadini che vivono e lavorano intorno al Monte Ijen. La maggior parte di questi contadini sono maduresi, i cui nonni provenivano dall'isola di Madura.
 
Le ciliegie, una volta selezionate tramite un selezionatore ottico, subiscono una fermentazione anaerobica di 2 giorni. Le ciliegie vengono essiccate, decorticate e poi sottoposte a un altro ciclo di selezione.
